Review: Rayou Micellar Foaming Cleanser with Yuzu Extract and Niacinamide | Gin and Glow

Rayou is a natural plant-based beauty brand that focuse on simplified beauty rituals. While it is true that taking care of our skin is important to stay youthful, sometimes we also need some personal time for other things such as working out, cooking and sleeping in. Rayou aims to bring you the best of both worlds!

I'm pretty sure by now most of my Indonesian friends have heard of Rayou - their fuss-free makeup removing products are pretty famous. Recently, Rayou launched another version of their Micellar Foaming Cleanser and they kindly sent one for me to try, which I'm going to review for you today, so please keep on reading!

The new variant is infused with yuzu extract that is rich in vitamin C & antioxidants to help brighten dull skin, jicama extract to boost radiance and glow, niacinamide to help balance oil production and even out skin tone as well as purslane extract which is rich in vitamin E that soothes the skin. Although cleanser is pretty basic, it's lovely to have nice ingredients in a cleanser because cleansers do make a difference.

Anyway, the cleanser comes in a pump bottle - the pump has a lock that makes this bottle travel friendly. The cleanser itself is pretty unique, it comes out as a soft, white foam and it has no fragrance at all - didn't smell a thing. The product is quite easy to use, just dispense some foam to your palm and wash your face, no harsh scrubbing, rubbing and tugging needed.

Unlike some other foam cleansers out there, Rayou Micellar Foaming Cleanser isn't drying at all - it did not strip my skin from its natural moisture, instead, my skin feels clean and fresh but not dry and tight. Right after rinsing it off and patting my face dry, my skin feels supple and ready for my next skincare products.

These days I don't wear a lot of makeup, probably just a tiny bit of eyebrow pencil, mascara and a whole lot of sunscreen. This cleanser works really well at removing all those items - which is pretty surprising because I wear waterproof mascaras all the time and they can be quite hard to remove, but this cleanser removes them effortlessly.

This cleanser makes my whole cleansing routine much faster but still enjoyable. The foam is really soft and bouncy, doesn't sting my eyes, very fun to use and results are amazing. Yes, sometimes I like using a cleansing oil and do a little face massage, but sometimes I just want to jump right to bed and watch whatever's on Netflix. 

In conclusion, I really like this cleanser - it exceeded my expectations, it cleanses so well and it feels super gentle on the skin. It doesn't dry out my skin, it doesn't strip my skin and it also saves me a lot of time, I can just use this and call it double cleansing, the 2-in-1 technology is real! I reach for this whenever I feel tired or I'm in a rush (which is, quite often tbh).
